An article from the Washington post says "Americans are far more socially isolated today than they were two decades ago, and a sharply growing number of people say they have no one in whom they can confide." And George Gallup concludes that "Americans are among the loneliest people on earth." At the heart of the gospel is that God has come to reconcile us with Him and with one another. As such, one of our core values is to be community-oriented. The primary way in which we seek to build community outside of Sunday morning service is through our community groups. Community groups meet throughout the week on a weekly basis at various locations. The mission statement of our community group is: "To raise up passionate followers of Jesus who themselves will raise up others by studying the Gospel together in an environment that fosters community, spiritual growth and encouragement."
Our three main objectives for our community groups are as follows:
1. To take us into deeper relationships with God and one another 2. Raise up and release disciples who are being transformed into salt and light.
3. To raise up leaders in the church.
